To
The Chief Postmaster General,

Respected
Sir,
Sub: Request
to modify (prepone) the commencement of date of joining of SBCO officials
We wish to submit the following for kind
consideration and favourable orders of
our beloved Chief PMG.
This Service Union is given to
understand that the Government of India has ordered for inclusion of Training
period for those officials who were recruited earlier to 1990 also.
We would like to bring to the kind
notice of CPMG that there are many
officials in SBCO who had been recruited to the Department before the year 1990
and having their date of commencement of continuous service from the date of
their joining after the completion of required mandatory period of theoretical
/rudimentary / practical training, both at the Postal Training Centre and in
the offices where they were directed for practical training.
Prior to introduction of TBOP
scheme, the SBCO was consisting staff in the LDC/UDC pattern as like Circle
Office. There were few types of
recruitments to the LDC/UDC cadre as furnished below :
-2-
Official Status
|
Mode Recruitment
|
Remarks
|
LDC
|
Direct recruitment – a test was
conducted by the department before their recruitment-
|
Training
period was approximately 14 days
|
LDC
|
By way of promotion from Group D
cadre
|
UDC
|
Direct
Recruitment
|
have to undergo training for a
period of nearly one month before their appointment
|
UDC
|
By way of
promotion from LDC cadre
|
|
UDC
|
By way of
promotion from Postal Assistants
|
These PAs have to undergo a total
training of 3 months before their appointment (ie) 75 days at PTC and 15 days on the spot, before
commencement of their regular appointment
|
Thus all the staff of SBCO who were
recruited before introduction of TBOP scheme and had undergone their required
period of training before their recruitment are entitled for pre-ponement of
their date of commencement of continuous service and its consequent benefits
like pre-ponement of their promotion under TBOP/BCR/MACP schemes.
We request our honourable Chief PMG
to look into the case and cause necessary orders in this regard so that
hundreds of Retired/Serving employees of SBCO shall stand benefited and can
enjoy their benefits in their Retired Life/Serving time.
Thanking
you,
Yours faithfully,
20.04.17
(M.P.P. KARTHIKEYAN)
